History and sociology are two of my greatest passions, so i’m usually involved in some project or another in those fields…
Griffintown
My ‘hood. Steeped in history. Largely considered to be the birthplace of the industrial revolution in Canada. Going through an identity crisis, combining historically-significant-now-decrepit landmarks with empty lots targetted by dollar-driven developpers.
Griffintown Interrupted: The brainchild of PhD grad Ya’el Santopinto: a competition for temporary architecture. I helped with WordPress and social media. I still update the twitter feed with all things Griffintown.
Quartier du Canal: Portal promoting 3 areas north of Canal Lachine: Griffintown, Little Burgundy and St-Henry. I’m just consulting on search engine optimization to ensure its visibility.
Earthwatch
This is my favorite organization of all time in the way they get people involved on expeditions. I love it because there are so many archeological projects to choose from. I think preserving our history and heritage is just as important as taking care of our climate and endangered species.
For now, i’m just involved as a donor, but am working at saving up for one of their expeditions: Easter Island is my number 1 choice. And of course, there’s always the option of swimming with dolphins in greece in the name of research. One day, sigh, one day…
